It Was Once a Church
The space used by this high rise building in the middle was first the city post office then the Coral Gables Presbyterian Church bought the post office. I loved that old building. But the Presbyterians needed a more useful and modern church. While I didn't particularly like the new church it was much nicer then the high rise that we have now. The church had stain windows that were in memory of my grandparents. I wanted to buy the windows to give them to another church. The new owners refused to sell and they used the windows in the new building.

A Pocket Park
This park is the only park in the north part of our city. This part of the city was developed before pocket parks became important. When the city bought this land, the local Rotary Club paid for the landscape. The city then named the park in honor of the Rotary Club of Coral Gables. The plants in this park are all natives to our area. It sort of looks like the open land in the city of my youth (with out the grass). Thursday, July 7, 2011
