Wine Cups

In the spring most of us have some wild flowers that identify our surroundings. Wine cups grow in the Florida Keys and these are in our back yard of our keys house. They grow right next to the salt water. The wind was constant when I took this picture - this is the best of maybe 6 tries. They are in the Gentian family and I would call it the poor mans Lisianthus. Since the prefix 'mc' alludes to large and over the top, I would call Lisianthus a Mcflower. Go to: http://toptropicals.com/catalog/uid/Eustoma_grandiflorum.htm
to see a mcflower. I have grown Lisianthus in Coral Gables and Key Largo. I haven't been able to grow the wine cups in the city.
