Chrysophyllum msolo

I spent some time with Google trying to get information about this tree. I found no images and very little information. It's a slow grower and has eatable fruit. It has some common names and they are stranger then the botanical name. This beautiful tree has a trunk like nothing that I have ever seen.

Sunset In The Making

Yes, the clouds did turn pink. But I liked this picture the best.

For people who need color in a sunset, here it is. I put some color in the picture. I still think I like the white clouds the best.

Breadfruit Growing In Coral Gables

Three summers and we have a tree. Now if we have a warm winter maybe we will have fruit next year. The first year was covered in the cold nights, but now it's too big to protect it.

A New Landscape

A few years ago the new owners removed the mature landscape for something rather plain (take a look). This past year the house was enlarged and now the professionals striped the shrubs and grass so they can sell their perfect landscape. It looks like the same old garden just a little smaller.

One Tree Down. One Tree Up

Last week the city removed the stump and all of the visible roots. This 50 by 50 foot area was cleared of all of the dead Ficus. This will show what they had to remove. It was one of our trees.

What Do I Have?

This is a wheelbarrow full of a palms beard.

Coccothrinax crinita (guano barbudo, guano petate, old man palm, palma petate) is a palm which is endemic to Cuba. I planted this palm 40 years ago when it was 8 inches tall. The beard was perfect for 30 years and then the beard started to fall away. This week the last of the beard dropped.

The Diving Platform Is Now A Waterfall

Olympic divers often used this pool in the 30's. Now most of the diving boards have been removed because of damage and litigation.
This is the far end of the beautiful pool at the Biltmore.
Enlarge the waterfall.

For Sale

Fortunately we don't have too many houses for sale in our area. The turnover is rather slow. Once you'r here you want to stay.

Blooming Again And A Again

This Adenium blooms in spurts all year around. I have 5 different Adeniums and usually at least one of them will have some flowers.

Silky Floss Tree / Chorisia Speciosa

The Chorisia trees started to flower in June and now they are flowering all over the city.

Some are dark pink (almost red) to very light pink.

Then you might find a white one. This one is three blocks from our house and as clear white as they come. Unfortunately I have never seen this one in full bloom.
