Fifty years ago this Bromiliad was one of the few that had an eye catching flower stem. Florists and upscale nurseries sold these at very high prices. Now we have a great number of Bromilliad hybrids that are real eye catchers, and they are no longer expensive. This one is growing under our Jaboticaba tree.
